Indian students applying for visa and residing abroad, interested in pursuing their Higher studies in Italy, will have to follow the below mentioned mandatory steps:
- Apply for admission on the selected Higher Education Institution website, within the deadline set by the same.
Please note that each Higher Education Institution has different admission requirements, deadlines and tuition fees. - Apply online within the deadlines for Pre-Enrollment through the UNIVERSITALY portal.
- Once pre-enrolled, apply for a D-VISA in case the duration of your study course exceeds 90 days, OR apply for a C-VISA in case the duration of your study course is less than 90 days.
Only through prior appointment, all students wishing to pursue their higher studies in Italy can submit their visa application at one of the following VFS centers: Bangalore, Chennai and Hyderabad.
Please be informed that all students will be required to attend a mandatory video interview upon submitting their visa application. In order to avoid any delay in the issuance of the visa, applicants are strongly recommended to submit the complete required documentation as listed in the official study visa checklist, available here: Checklist STUDY VISA of the Consulate General of Italy in Bengaluru.
Please be informed that, according to the Italian law currently in force, the processing time of long-term visa applications (D type) can take up to 90 days from the day they are received by this Consulate General. Please note that in case the Consulate General requires the student to submit additional documents, the overall processing time is likely to exceed 90 days.
It should be noted that, unless otherwise indicated in the future by the Italian Ministry of Universities and Research in agreement with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.
Declaration of Value (DOV)
If the student has been required to submit a Declaration of Value (DOV) by the Italian Higher Education Institution, and he/she has completed the previous studies in a State of India falling under the jurisdiction of the Consulate General of Italy in Bengaluru, kindly refer to the information contained in the following link: DOV final checklist Bengaluru
