The request for transcription of a Civil Status document can be submitted to the Consular Section by sending the originals of the documentation by ordinary mail or private courier to the following address:

Before sending the originals it is advisable to send a copy of all the documentation by e-mail to bangalore.consolare@esteri.it in order to allow the Consular Section to verify that the documents have been properly attested by the local authorities.
Procedure for the transcription in Italy of civil status records (Birth; Marriage; Death)
The Civil Status document in original must be delivered or sent to the Consulate for subsequent transmission to the competent Italian Municipality with the following attestations:

- For documents issued in Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, and the Union Territory of Puducherry:
– Certification by the relevant Home Department;
– Apostille issued by the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India;
– Italian translation in conformity with the original, to be attested by the Consulate.

- For documents issued in Karnataka:
– Certification by the Regional Commissioner – Bangalore division, or the Additional Deputy Commissioner, or the Additional Magistrate of Bangalore Urban and Rural districts;
– Apostille issued by the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India;
– Italian translation in conformity with the original, to be attested by the Consulate.
