The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has prepared a detailed and up-to-date case-wise list of the services provided by Italian Consulates, to both Italian citizens resident registered with A.I.R.E. and non-residents who are temporarily travelling abroad. For procedures related only to the consular jurisdiction of the Consulate in Bangalore, the relevant information is listed below:
a) Procedure for registration of Civil Status certificates (Birth; Marriage; Death) in Italian municipalities
All Civil Status certificates must be submitted or sent to the Consulate General for further transmission to the Italian competent municipality for registration. Every original certificate needs to bear the following attestations.

- For documents issued in Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, and the Union Territory of Puducherry:
– Attestation by the relevant Home Department;
– Apostille issued by the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India;
– Italian translation in conformity with the original, to be attested by the Consulate.

- For documents issued in Karnataka:
– Attestation by the Regional Commissioner – Bangalore division, or the Additional Deputy Commissioner, or the Additional Magistrate of Bangalore Urban and Rural districts;
– Apostille issued by the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India.
b) Procedure for submission of notarial deeds issued by Indian Notaries

- For notarial deeds issued in Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, and the Union Territory of Puducherry:
– Attestation by the relevant Home Department;
– Apostille issued by the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India;
– Italian translation in conformity with the original, to be attested by the Consulate

- For documents issued in Karnataka:

c) The Declaration of Value (DOV)
The Declaration of Value is an informative document requested by the Italian Higher Education Institution granting admission.
All students seeking to obtain the DOV for the current academic year, having completed their education in one of the States falling under the jurisdiction of the Consulate General of Italy in Bangalore (Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, and the territory of the Union of Puducherry) are required to refer ONLY to the following official checklist.
